    Description:

    We invite you to the 2025 Tatham Henderson Lecture by Dr. Jaris Swidrovich, titled A Storied Life of Woven Threads: A Two Spirit Indigenous Pharmacist's Path to Better Health Care.  The lecture is being held on October 8th, 6pm (followed by a reception) at the School of Medicine Building (15 Arch St.) Room 132A.  To attend in-person or online please register via the following link.  Please note that the venue is wheel chair accessible.  If any additional accommodations are required, please reach out to edifhs@queensu.ca.    

     

    Dr. Swidrovich will discuss how intersecting identities shape experiences and navigation within the professional health field, fundamental teachings that emerge from personal research and community work, and the role of story telling in health care.  We hope you can join us.  

     

    Biography of Dr. Swidrovich:
    CIHR funding recipient, National Pharmacy Leadership Award winner and named one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40, Dr. Jaris Swidrovich is Canada's first First Nations Doctor of Pharmacy and North America’s only Indigenous faculty member in pharmacy. Professor, Mentor, and Community leader, Swidrovich brings his experience of bridging organizational needs with Health Care mandates. Jaris is a Two Spirit Champion passionate about health, education, and how Indigenous and made-marginalized people are impacted at all levels. He integrates personal stories to explain complex issues.
