Please join us for the presentation entitled 'The impacts of a parental career in the Canadian Armed Forces on the health and wellbeing of youth in military families', presented by Alyson Mahar, Ph. This event is free, and open to all.
Dr Alyson Mahar is an epidemiologist and health services researcher. Her program of research includes a focus on understanding the impact of a military occupation on the families of Canadian Armed Forces members. She leads a series of studies using data from the Health Behaviour in School aged Children in Canada survey to understand the health and wellbeing of youth with a parent(s) or guardian(s) who currently or previously serves in the Canadian Armed Forces relative to other Canadian youth. Dr Mahar is Project co-Director of the Garnet Families Partnership (https://garnetfamilies.com/fmrg/partnership/), and affiliated with the Canadian Institute of Military and Veteran Health Research (https://cimvhr.ca/) and the Families Matter Research Group https://garnetfamilies.com/fmrg/, all based at Queen’s University.
