Carolyn Prouse, Associate Professor, alongside colleagues and scholar-activists from Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, have been tracking the urban impacts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, from policing and surveillance to environmental concerns. They have developed an online platform, , to host blog posts, official reports and agreements, and community multimedia that highlight the key issues that communities are experiencing during the tournament and to build solidarities across the 16 host cities. Their platform looks to see how our love for the Beautiful Game might be harming the most vulnerable urban citizens, and encourages the sharing of resources for those who are fighting back.
