The Department of Geography and Planning is pleased to share that Assistant Professor Dr. Mark Stoller was recently awarded an Insight Grant for his research project in Nunavut.
Insight Grants support large-scale research initiatives that advance knowledge and understanding in the social sciences and humanities. These grants are awarded over five years.
Dr. Stoller's project Hivumuuniaqtugut: research, resistance, and the geographies of youth identity in the Nattilik Region, Nunavut, was awarded $481,015. His research as a whole looks into the historical and political geographies of northern Canada with a focus on youth research to record and share local histories and stories.
