Biography
I received my Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Vienna and hold a Master's degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation from TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology). During my PhD, I aim to deepen my expertise in permafrost science and advance our understanding of permafrost systems in Labrador. My research focuses on permafrost dynamics in the context of climate change, with particular emphasis on spatial and temporal variability, geomorphological processes, geophysical characterization and their implications for northern environments and communities. By investigating past, present, and future permafrost conditions in Labrador, I seek to contribute to a better understanding of climate impacts, environmental resilience and risk mitigation in Arctic regions. An important aspect of my research is engaging with Indigenous communities and integrating Indigenous knowledge alongside scientific approaches, recognizing its essential role in understanding environmental change and supporting more meaningful and locally relevant permafrost assessments.
