Queen’s Welcomes Delegation from National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan

A visit from NSYSU provided an opportunity to discuss shared priorities and strengthen ties between the two institutions.

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ was honoured to welcome a delegation from (NSYSU), Taiwan, to campus today.  

The delegation included Dr. Jyh-Tsung Lee, Dean of the College of Science; Dr. May-Ru Chen, Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics; Dr. Shuchen (Suzanne) Hsieh, Chair of the Department of Chemistry; Dr. Che-Hsin Lee, Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences; Dr. Chien-Cheng Kuo, Head of the Department of Physics; and Dr. Tsung-Lin Lee, Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics.

The delegation met with representatives from ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥, including Kevin Kee, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science; Scott MacKenzie, Acting Vice-Dean; James Fraser, Associate Dean (Graduate), Faculty of Arts and Science; Zhiyao Zhang, Director, Asia Region, Office of the Vice-Provost, Global Engagement; Anand Castelino, Director, Undergraduate Marketing and Communications; and Allison Yokom, Senior Director, International Undergraduate Enrolment.

The visit provided an important opportunity to explore future areas of collaboration and identify initiatives that could serve as the foundation for a stronger institutional partnership. Discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation, including graduate student and faculty exchanges, graduate co-supervision, and pathway programs.

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ extends its sincere thanks to the NSYSU delegation for taking the time to visit campus and engage in these meaningful discussions. The university looks forward to continuing these conversations and developing collaborative initiatives that will further strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.
