¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ was honoured to host international high school guidance counsellors from 10 countries during the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ stop on the Ontario Unlocked Counsellor Tour 2026.
Arriving on the afternoon of July 20, participants were welcomed to campus and introduced to ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ during a reception at the University Club and formal welcome from Ann Tierney, Vice-Provost, Global Engagement and members of the International Enrolment team.
Later, the group enjoyed some of Kingston's most iconic experiences, including a visit to the Gord Downie Memorial Pier, a trolley tour of ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ main and west campuses, and the city's most beautiful sites before dinner.
On July 21, counsellors began the day by hearing directly from a current student and recent alumni during a panel at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ International Centre (QUIC). They then explored campus through a guided campus tour and visited several innovative School of Computing research spaces, including PERK Lab, Med-i Lab, QUARRG Ingenuity Labs, and iStudio.
The visit concluded at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, where guests received a tour of the space before participating in networking activities with academic and administrative leaders from across the university, including representatives from Arts and Science, Smith Engineering, Smith School of Business, Law, Nursing, Education, and Student Affairs.
The two-day visit provided an opportunity for counsellors to experience firsthand the vibrant academic community, student-centred supports, and welcoming campus environment that make ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ a destination of choice for students from around the world.
