Originally hailing from Bangladesh, Mashiat has had the opportunity to complete her BSc (Hons) in Physics from King's College London. She briefly studied remotely for her MSc in Photonics at Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, Germany, before moving to ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ for her PhD studies. Mashiat is highly interested in nanofabrication methods and integrated circuits, and is always eager to find novel and exciting approaches to use them to bring some optical theories into fruition. Mashiat's long-term goal is to build a research environment more conducive to experimental research back in her home country, and she thinks a great start is to build collaborative networks from the places she has been abroad. Outside of studying, Mashiat is fascinated by contemporary dancing, non-fiction, and traveling. (edited)
