Introduction
As the Interim Director, Human Resources, Catarina partners with senior leadership to support and drive a culture of inclusion, engagement, high-performance and continuous improvement. She provides strategic advice to diverse university stakeholders on complex HR and leadership related issues, including recruitment, labour relations and engagement, total compensation, organizational development and training, performance management, and organizational design.
Catarina joins us from the Faculty Relations Office, where she serves as Senior Labour Relations Advisor. She brings extensive experience working in complex, unionized environments across the post-secondary, healthcare, and public sectors. Catarina is a trusted advisor to senior leadership on collective bargaining, grievance management, and labour relations strategy, and is known for her ability to navigate complex issues, synthesize diverse perspectives, and support informed decision-making across the institution. We are also proud to welcome her back as an alumna of the Faculty of Arts and Science; she also holds a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto.
