Thank you to the @River Institute for welcoming the CEC-REN Youth Outreach and Education Coordinators, Prama Roy and Rachel Korchinsky, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025! 

We were honoured to present during the “Fostering Communication & Collaboration for Action” session and were deeply inspired by the incredible youth and public outreach initiatives shared throughout the day. It was wonderful to learn more about the River Institute’s impactful community workshops and engagement programs. 

🌊 Highlights from the day included: 

• Meeting environmentalist and former Mayor of Prescott, The Honourable Sandra S. Lawn, a proud Queen’s University alumna. 

• Exploring new ways citizen science is driving water conservation (e.g., iNaturalist). 

• Learning about the HydroFATE model for mapping contaminants of emerging concern. 

• Discovering the River Strategy and Remedial Action Plan initiatives led by the River Institute.
