The University Club used to be known as the best-kept secret on the Queen’s campus, but, over the past year, it has been gaining a reputation as a welcoming community hub, open to all.

The club has been part of life at Queen’s for generations, and, in 2024, it joined Queen’s Housing and Ancillary Services and switched to a new operating model, doing away with its membership requirement. The University Club offers lunch from Tuesday to Friday each week that everyone in the Queen’s and broader communities are welcome to attend.

“We’ve really been focused on creating an inviting atmosphere,” says Jennifer Pete, Director, Business Development and Communication, Queen’s Housing and Ancillary Services. “We’re also giving the space a fresh feel with new paint while preserving its historic charm at the same time. I hope that all students, faculty, and staff come out to join us for lunch, either inside or on the patio, to appreciate this campus gem and its beautiful lakeside views now that it’s more accessible than ever before.”

The University Club also hosts events of various sizes, from meetings to conferences, making it a wonderful addition for members of the Queen’s community who are looking for space to hold their next gathering.
