Mark Asberg has indicated that he wishes to be considered for reappointment as Vice-Provost and University Librarian. His current term concludes on June 30, 2026.
Mark Asberg assumed the role of Vice-Provost and University Librarian at Queen’s University on May 1, 2021. The Vice-Provost and University Librarian provides leadership for the University Library and is responsible for a broader portfolio that includes Queen’s libraries, archives, museums, galleries, and performing arts.
Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Matthew Evans has appointed Lynne Postovit, Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs), to chair the Advisory Committee that will make recommendations regarding the appointment of the Vice-Provost and University Librarian.
Members of the Queen’s community are invited to submit their views on the role of the Vice-Provost and University Librarian and the present state and future development of the portfolio. Submissions should be sent to provost@queensu.ca by Feb. 20, 2026. When submitting, please indicate whether you wish your submission to be shared confidentially with members of the Advisory Committee.
