Heather Poussard-Nadeau

¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥

Heather is a fourth-year PhD candidate working under the supervision of Dr. Amitava Chowdhury. Her research interests include the British Empire and Commonwealth in the 20th century, decolonization, nationalism, and global history. Her dissertation focuses on the development of the Commonwealth of Nations and its relationship to decolonization, nation-building, and constitutional development in the former British Empire, particularly Canada, the UK, and the Caribbean.

Heather is a student fellow at the Global History Initiative based at the ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ Department of History. She is also the graduate representative on the department's EDII committee and the PSAC Local 901 department steward for History.

In fall 2025, Heather is concurrently enrolled at the University of Glasgow as a Postgraduate Visiting Research Student in the School of Humanities. She is also a co-organizer of "Transforming Nations and Identities in a Global World after 1945."

Outside of history, Heather enjoys knitting and reading romance novels.
