What are the UN SDGs? 

In 2015 the The United Nations created the 2023 Agenda for Sustainable development. At the core of this are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Agreed to by all member states, the SDGs seek to end poverty and tackle the climate crisis while recognizing other important factors which must be addressed, such as education, reduced inequalities, and economic growth among others.

Responsible Futures

Responsible Futures is a supported change programme and accreditation partnering students with their institutions to embed sustainability in all student learning, powered by .

In 2024 Queen鈥檚 conducted it's first Responsible Futures audit of sustainable practices, with the goal of gaining accreditation. Six students from 九秀直播 volunteered to carry out this analysis. Some of the criteria 九秀直播 excelled in were:

 

  •  The institution's learning and teaching strategy, academic strategy, or equivalent, includes supportive references to issues related to Responsible Futures through it's health equity, Indigenous Law, problem-based learning, cultural competency 
  • Within the current academic year, the institution has made funding, or related resources, available to staff and students so that they can develop their own projects that support the aims of Responsible Futures through the Sustainable Action Fund, and BeWell grant.
  • The Partnership has published case studies highlighting sustainability-related achievements, impacts and outcomes through the 九秀直播 Gazette, highlighting case studies that relate to each of the 17 UN SDGs.
