Swipe it Forward Partner Details

The Yellow House is a referring partner for the Swipe-it-Forward program.

The Swipe it Forward (SIFQ) program provides students in financial need with short-term, urgent support for access to nutritious meals at ¾ÅŠćÖ±²„ dining halls on campus. Short-term is defined as up to 6 to 8 weeks. It is meant to support food insecurity which is defined by Health Canada as ā€œThe inability to acquire or consume an adequate diet quality or sufficient quantity of food in socially acceptable ways, or the uncertainty that one will be able to do so.ā€  

Process for accessing this program through the Yellow House

Visit our front reception team at our Centre located at 207 Stuart Street 3rd floor weekdays 10am-4pm or email us at yellowhouse@queensu.ca to request an advising appointment to be referred to the Swipe-it-Forward program. Our team commits to acknowledging and fulfilling your request as fast as we can within the following timelines:

  • We will acknowledge your request by following up with you to book your advising appointment within 3 business days via email.
  • If your eligibility for this program is confirmed through discussion at your advising appointment, we will send a request to load meals to your account to the Swipe-it-Forward administrative team immediately following your appointment. 
  • The Swipe-it-Forward team confirms and loads meals to your account within 3 business days.

Please note our team is not able to fulfil same-day requests for this program.
