Study at Bader

Bader College offers two distinct types of educational opportunities: academic courses and continuing education.

Academic courses

The official reopening for academic courses will take place in May 2026.

Academic programming follows a cohort model, with courses from Queen’s University and external partners currently in development.

The long-running Queen’s University will be the first to return to the castle following its closure for essential repairs and restoration. Additional new Queen’s courses, designed specifically for Bader College, are in development and will draw upon the castle’s unique heritage, resources, and location. Watch this space for exciting updates as new academic opportunities are announced.

During the academic closure, two cohorts from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s (UWM) Historic Architecture Program were able to work on site. A third cohort from UWM will also return to the castle in the summer of 2026.

Continuing education

Alongside academic programming, Bader College is developing a variety of continuing education courses for learners of all ages.

Continuing education courses, including painting and stained glass workshops, have begun as of autumn 2025. In the new year, look out for courses in heritage conservation and a suite of continuing professional development offerings.
