Statement on the Earthquake in Morocco

The Queen’s University community is deeply saddened to learn of the devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Morocco late Friday, September 8, 2023.

We wish to express our concern and care for our Moroccan students in the Queen’s community, our Moroccan alumni, our colleagues at our exchange partner Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and all those in the affected regions who are enduring the severe consequences of this unfolding catastrophe.
