Over the past two weeks, conflict has broken out between rival forces in Sudan, with violence particularly affecting civilians in the capital city of Khartoum, as the numbers of those who have been killed or injured continues to climb. We have been deeply troubled by news of residents who have lost access to drinking water and other basic supplies, as locals find themselves caught in the middle of an increasingly urgent and fast-changing situation.

The Vice-Provost, Global Engagement sends a warm congratulations to Jane Chin, Adjunct Faculty Member, Faculty of Education, who is the recipient of this year's International Education Innovation Award as part of the Principal’s Teaching and Learning Awards!
The Principal’s International Education Innovation Award recognizes innovation in internationalization of both teaching and learning in programs or courses. Successful innovation is exemplified through evidence-based approaches to learning outcomes that are student-focused.

Thank you to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ottawa, DAAD Canada, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation), Goethe Institute, and the University of Konstanz for visiting ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ at the start of February! ¾ÅÐãÖ±²¥ was visited by Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Canada, Her Excellency Sabine Sparwasser, and a small delegation of German Research Institutions.
Nine days have passed since a devastating earthquake and aftershocks brought suffering and destruction to parts of Türkiye and Syria. The magnitude of the disaster is very clear, but it remains difficult for many of us properly to absorb. Still more challenging is it to understand what action on our part is called for, what those of us remote from the immediate site can and should do to contribute to the relief effort.
