Queen’s University and CUPE Local 229 reach tentative agreement

The University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 229 reached a tentative agreement to renew their collective agreement late in the evening on December 8, 2021. The tentative collective agreement is subject to ratification by both the university and the bargaining unit.

The university and CUPE Local 229 have been actively engaged in negotiations to renew their collective agreement since June 2021. Details of the tentative collective agreement will remain confidential until both parties ratify the agreement

Queen’s and CUPE Local 254 ratify collective agreement

The tentative collective agreement between Queen’s University and CUPE Local 254 is now in effect following a successful ratification vote by bargaining unit members held on Dec. 21, 2021.

The Human Resources Committee of the Queen’s Board of Trustees voted to ratify the agreement on Nov. 25, 2021.

The renewed collective agreement will succeed the current agreement, effective retroactively to July 1, 2021.

The tentative collective agreement between Queen’s University and CUPE Local 1302 is now in effect following a successful ratification vote by the Human Resources Committee of the Queen’s Board of Trustees on Dec. 22, 2021.

CUPE Local 1302 bargaining unit members voted to ratify the agreement on Dec. 13, 2021.

The renewed collective agreement will succeed the current agreement, effective retroactively to July 1, 2021.

University and PSAC and its Local 901 reach tentative agreement

The university and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (“PSAC”), and its Local 901, reached a tentative agreement on February 19th to renew their collective agreement for Unit 1. The agreement is subject to successful ratification by the parties.

PSAC 901 (Unit 1) is comprised of graduate, JD and MD students employed by the university as Teaching Assistants and graduate students employed as Research Assistants and Teaching Fellows.

The parties’ negotiating teams have been actively engaged in negotiations to renew the collective agreement since June 2021.

Queen’s and PSAC Local 901, Unit 1 ratify agreement

Queen’s University and the Public Service Alliance of Canada and its Local 901, Unit 1 (“PSAC”) representing graduate, JD and MD students employed by the university as Teaching Assistants and graduate students employed as Research Assistants and Teaching Fellows, have successfully ratified a tentative agreement to renew their collective agreement.

The renewed collective agreement has a three-year term and will be in effect until April 30, 2024.

Collective Bargaining Update: Queen’s University and USW Local 2010

Queen’s University and United Steel Workers (USW) Local 2010, representing general staff in Grades 2-9, exchanged collective bargaining proposals on March 22, 2022.

The Collective Agreement between Queen’s University and USW Local 2010 expired on December 31, 2021.

To date, the Parties have had seven bargaining dates and are scheduled to meet again on June 21 & 22, 2022 to continue negotiations with the assistance of a government appointed Conciliation Officer.

The University and the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 2010 reached a tentative agreement to renew their collective agreement early in the morning on June 23, 2022. The tentative collective agreement is subject to ratification by both the university and the bargaining unit.

The University and USW Local 2010 have been actively engaged in negotiations to renew their collective agreement since March 2022. Details of the tentative collective agreement will remain confidential until both parties ratify the agreement.
