Queen’s and QUFA begin talks to renew Collective Agreement

Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and its Local 452 have advised Queen’s University that on Thursday, April 16, they applied to the Ministry of Labour requesting the appointment of a conciliation officer to confer with the parties.
The two sides have been bargaining since January of this year. The current agreement expired June 30, 2025.
Queen’s University and the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) Local 67 have successfully ratified a renewed Collective Agreement. The new four-year agreement was ratified by the University on February 18, 2026, is effective April 1, 2025, and will expire on March 31, 2029.
An agreement between Queen’s University and the United Steelworkers (USW) and its Local 2010, Unit 01 (Academic Assistants) to renew their Collective Agreement has been ratified by members of the bargaining unit and the University’s Board of Trustees. The renewed collective agreement is effective through August 31, 2027.

QUFA is the certified bargaining agent for approximately 1,500 faculty members, librarians and archivists at Queen’s University.
